LITHIUM DISILICATE (E.MAX®) - Tutorial

- Wednesday, September 03, 2014
BLUE STATE

1. Remove the sprue with Sintered Diamond - Light contact pressure, 10k rpm max
2. Smooth the surface and remove any striations/scratches from the mill process (prep for initial polish) with BH 213A Wheel - light contact pressure, 6k – 8k rpm
3. Initial Polish with DiaShine Fine Yellow and Stiff SHP Bristle Brush, 8k – 10k rpm. Rotate the crown in your fingers and use slightly more pressure on the pull stroke for the axial surface. For the occlusal surface, use firmer pressure on the pull stroke.

SINTER, STAIN & GLAZE

1. Final Polish with the Fine Soft Pink and Soft SHP Bristle Brush, 8k – 10k rpm. Use moderate contact pressure.
2. Finally go over the entire restoration with the Chamois Centre Soft Bristle SHP Brush DRY - 10k – 15k rpm with a light touch.

VITA ENAMIC®- Tutorial

- Wednesday, September 03, 2014
1. Remove the sprue with BH 100B Wheel - Light contact pressure, 10k rpm max

2. Smooth the surface (prep for initial polish) with same BH 100B Wheel - light contact pressure, 8k rpm

3. Initial Polish with Fine Soft Pink and Medium SHP Bristle Brush, 5k – 7k rpm. Rotate the crown in your fingers and use moderate pressure on the pull stroke. Use firmer pressure on the pull stroke when polishing the occlusal surface so the bristles reach into the anatomy.

4. Final Polish with the Super Fine Soft Grey and NEW Medium SHP Bristle Brush, 5k – 7k rpm.  Very important to use a minimal amount of polish - start by spreading the polish over the surface using the Medium brush (5k rpm) - you'll see that this polish covers the restoration easily. Once covered, go back over the entire area and use light to moderate contact pressure again focusing on the pull stroke while rotating the restoration in your fingers. Give the polish a moment to work as this is a very fine polish and ONLY to be used as a secondary step to the Fine Soft Pink.

5. Finally go over the entire restoration with the Chamois Centre Soft Bristle SHP Brush DRY, 10k rpm with light contact pressure.

5. Finally go over the entire restoration with the Chamois Centre Soft Bristle SHP Brush DRY - 10k – 15k rpm using a light touch.
